A natural quality product
Crushed mussel shells are a natural quality product.
They are empty shells gathered in the North Sea off the coast of Norway or in the Atlantic around the Faeroes. DanShells receives a total of about 10,000 tons annually. For the sake of comparison, there are millions of tons off the Danish east coast alone. And nature ensures constant renewal.
They are a clean, organic product with many purposes:
- Lime and calcium enhancement of poultry feed means top egg quality
- decoration, weed suppression and to combat ice and snow on park and garden roads and paths
- in biofilters to remove gas and bad smells
- In water filters for the removal of nitrates and phosphor
Top quality egg production
Crushed mussel shells in poultry feed give the highest egg quality. Calcium in mussel shells can be more easily absorbed by hens than lime or chalk.
